INK & Criterion New Writing: Writers Announced for 2025 Programme
Following the success of last year, INK is delighted to once again partner with Criterion New Writing for a second year of this bespoke development programme — created to support playwrights in strengthening their craft, building confidence, and developing new work for the stage.
Launching in September 2025, the programme brings together eight writers, selected from those whose submitted plays were produced at INK Festival 2025. Their work stood out for its originality, voice and promise — and we’re excited to support the next stage of their journey.
The six-session programme includes:
One in-person session in Suffolk
Four online workshops
A final session at the Criterion Theatre in London
This year’s selected writers include:
Catriona Dugan – Top Flight (POD 10)
Joe McArdle – Deginolade (POD 10)
Pauline Watts – Benched (POD 5)
Andrew Crook – Troy (POD 4)
Kathryn Simmonds – Out of the Rain (POD 9)
Mark Daniels – Tommy Crisino's Tasty Lips (POD 5)
Tom Draper – Replacement (POD 10)
Cameron Spain – Wake (POD 7)
We’re proud to be working with Criterion New Writing to continue investing in the next generation of talent — and we look forward to seeing what these brilliant writers create next.
